Nolbert Brown Cruz – November 14, 2011


Nolbert Brown Cruz, 75, of Amarillo, died Monday, November 14, 2011.
Rosary will be said at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2011 in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel.  Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 17, 2011 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Jose Gomez officiating.  Burial will in Llano Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Mrs. Cruz was born on July 20, 1936 in Sonora, TX to Louis and Agnes Brown.  She retired from the Santa Fe Credit Union.  Mrs. Cruz was an active member of the Guadalapanas and was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.  She enjoyed watching her grandkids play baseball, football, and track.  She was very giving to all and would buy necessities for others who were in need.  She also cooked many meals for others who had lost a loved one.  She not only loved her family, but also her sister-in-laws who considered her a sister.  She had so much love for everybody, she had a heart of gold.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ignacio Cruz.
Survivors include two sons, John Cruz and wife Tamera, and Mike and Delia Cruz, all of Amarillo; a daughter, Diana Liggitt and husband Jim of Amarillo; two sisters, Jonnie Vierra of San Jose, CA and Sue Hernandez of Mansfield, TX; and grandchildren, Michael Cruz, Colin Cruz, Camille Cruz, Matthew Cruz, Clare Cruz, and John Ignacio Cruz; and many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.
The family suggests memorial donations be made to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church Building Fund, 1210 SE 11th Ave  Amarillo, TX 79102-4007.
