Marvin Lowell Clifton – March 7, 2013


Marvin Lowell Clifton, 82, of Lubbock, formerly of Dumas, died Thursday, March 7, 2013.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, March 11, 2013, in St. John Lutheran Church in Dumas with Pastor Don Poole officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Dumas, 500 N. Maddox Ave.
Marvin was born April 5, 1930, in Profitt to Jack and Effie Clifton. He graduated in 1946 from Dumas High School. He served in the National Guard and retired from the United States Postal Service.
He was a member of Lions Club of Dumas, and a former board member of Moore County Historical Museum and Panhandle Eye Bank. He volunteered for RSVP and Panhandle Community Services.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Bertha Iola Clifton; a brother, Sammy Weldon Clifton and wife Margaret of Exeter, R.I.; three children, Sandy Clifton of Amarillo, Donna Hodge and husband Robert of Littlefield and Chuck Clifton and wife Linda of Lubbock; five grandchildren, Veronica Harris of Lubbock, Kyle Admire of McAllister, Okla., Matthew Clifton of Dallas, Amanda Hodge of Littlefield and Shelly Tyler of Snyder; eleven great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
The family suggest memorials be to Texas Lion’s Camp, P.O. Box 290274, Kerrville, TX 78029.
