Marlene Cantrell 81, of Amarillo, TX celebrated her rebirth in the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 18, 2019.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 21, 2019, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with John Maynard, minister, Church of Christ of Hooker, OK.  Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Marlene was born Oct. 27, 1937, in Hooker, OK to George and Jessie Krieger.  She graduated from high school in Hooker, OK.  She loved spending time with her grandchildren.  She also enjoyed going to garage sales.  Marlene and her son owned Kevin & Granny’s Antiques.  She spent her life giving to, caring for, and loving family, friends, and even strangers unconditionally.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Bob Cantrell.

Survivors include a daughter, Karlen Cantrell, of Amarillo; a son, Kevin Cantrell and wife Kelly, of Amarillo; a brother, Roy Krieger; two sisters, Bessie Scott and Ruby Maynard and husband John, all of Hooker, OK; six grandchildren, Christi, Kris, Brett, Mariah, Makynna, and Cooper; and five great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6-7:00 p.m., Friday, Sept. 20, 2019, at the funeral home.

The family suggests memorials to BSA Hospice Care of the Southwest.

  1. I am very saddened about the passing of Marlene. She was just a wonderful person to know and love. I am so blessed for the memories of her and Bob through the years. She has reached the ultimate goal in life. Karen and Kevin, my prayers are for comfort for you and your families. Thank you very much, Karen for bringing her to see me. I will always be grateful.
