Maria T. Arenas, 82, of Amarillo, TX died Wednesday, May 22, 2019.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 25, 2019, at New Life Church of Amarillo, 406 S. Pittsburg, with Spike Maldonado and Ezekiel Contreras officiating.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Maria was born February 5, 1937, in San Antonio, TX to Felipe and Natividad Trinidad.  She married Emilio Arenas on August 15, 1962, in Colorado City, TX.  She spent time in San Antonio and Lorraine and moved to Amarillo in 1968.  She worked at BSA for many years.  Maria was a member of Temple of Praise Assembly and Word of Faith Ministries.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Adelina Garcia and Angelina Santos.

Survivors include her husband, Emilio Arenas, of Amarillo; two daughters, Mary Snipes and husband Larry, of North Ridge, CA, and Bertha Sharber and husband Eric, of Amarillo; three sons, Emilio Arenas Jr. and wife Delores, Louis Arenas and wife Sheila, and Rudy Arenas, all of Amarillo; four sisters, Irene Bustos, Mary Jessie Arenas, Natividad Trinidad, and Yolanda Hernandez, all of Amarillo; sixteen grandchildren; and twenty great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m., Friday, May 24, 2019, at the funeral home.

    I love you dearly and so glad you are no longer in pain. I’m sorry I couldn’t be there for your last moments but I will always have and carry you in my heart. I will take care of mom ” Mary” for you and protect her through this time of need. Please watch over my family and continue to be my gardian angel.
