Margie E. "Haws" Kinsey – June 9, 2011

Margie E. “Haws” Kinsey, 75, of Carthage passed away at 6:15 a.m. Thursday June 9, 2011.
Graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday in Memorial Park Cemetery at Vega.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers at Vega, 110 S. Main St., Vega, Texas.
Margie was born April 9, 1936 in Friona, Texas.  She had lived in Carthage since 1999, moving from Glenwood, Arkansas.  Margie was the daughter of Leonard Haws and Helen “Cogdill” Haws.  Margie graduated from Friona, Texas in 1954 and West Texas State University Bachelors of Science Degree in 1958.  She went to college on a basketball scholarship playing at Wayland Baptist College for 2 years.  She then attended Eastern New Mexico University and the University of Colorado to work on her Masters Degree.  She also taught school and coached for 11 years.    Margie trained and raced horses from 1959 to 1985.   She was employed at Precious Moments Hotel for the past 10 years.
Margie was united in marriage to Ronald Gene Kinsey on August 8, 1963 in Raton, New Mexico.  He preceded her in death on April 12, 1998.
Margie is survived by several nieces and nephews, brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws and one aunt.  She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Walter Haws.
Contributions may be made to the Joplin Relief Fund in care of the Ulmer Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
