Margaret Lorraine Valois, 90, of Amarillo, died Friday, Dec. 28, 2012.
Memorial services will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at Ware Memorial in the upstairs dining room, with Alan Williamson, chaplain, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Mrs. Valois was born Aug. 1, 1922, in Pittston, PA. She graduated Jenkins High School in Ft. Griffith, PA. Mrs. Valois worked for Otis manufacturing aircraft parts during World War II for the war effort. She met Douglas J.T. Valois, a commissioned officer, in New Jersey after the war. They married in St. Petersburg, FL and moved to Amarillo in 1958. He preceded her in death in 2004.
Mrs. Valois’ favorite television show was General Hospital and she loved Hallmark Hall of Fame.
She also was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Gerich; a son, Darrell Valois; and a grandson, Trent Valois.
Survivors include three sons, Douglas J.T. Valois, Jr. and wife Gwen of Rowlett, David Valois and wife Charie of Amarillo and Dan Valois and wife Chela of Ft. Worth; a sister, Mary Ann Cawley and husband Joe of Scottsdale, AZ; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorial donations to benefit the Shriners Hospitals for Children, Office of Development 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607.
