Luke Freeman

Luke Freeman was born on July 8, 1997, in Amarillo, Texas. He died on July 11, 2020, at the age of 23. He was the third and youngest child of Wilson and Tonya Freeman. Luke was a ball of fire! It was assumed by most people that if Luke had been the firstborn, chances are Tonya and Wilson may have stopped having more children. Despite his jesterly doings, his sister Berkley and older brother Wils loved him dearly and they were all very close.

Luke had a huge heart, witty logic, and an old soul. One was never sure what perspective he would take, but rest assured it was unique, creative, and often contradictory. Luke was loving, kind, and confident. Like his dad, brother, and Grandfather Warren, Luke was an enthusiastic fisherman and hunter. He found both solace and passion in the “thrill of the catch.” He would light up a room with his smile then tell a great story! Luke loved spending time with people from different walks of life. His friendships spanned from the ages of eight to eighty-eight. When Luke spoke, he had the gift of making people feel special, as if they were the most important person in the room. His distinct wisdom, curiosity, and sweet laugh will be sorely missed.

Luke was preceded in death by his grandmother, Celine Seay Freeman, and his uncles, Warren Thomas “Tom” Freeman and Dale Conrad Roberts.

He is survived by his parents, Wilson and Tonya Freeman, sister, Berkley Freeman, brother and sister-in-law, Wils Freeman and TJ, niece Ellie; grandfathers, Warren Freeman, Jerry Crumpler, and Mike Wells; grandmothers, Darlene Wells, and Peggy Crumpler; aunts and uncles, Philip and Lisa Freeman, and Randa and Mike Scott; cousins, Hayden, Austin and Mikkel and their children Taos and Porter, Hampton and Alex, Savannah, Lena, Chris, Toinette, Lonnie, Max, Sam, Gabby, and Gracie; numerous great-aunts, and a huge assortment of friends.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. – 6:30 P.M., Monday, July 13, 2020, at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, July 14, 2020, at Llano Cemetery with Dr. Murray Gossett officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, Amarillo.

For the safety of our seniors, we would appreciate it if you wore a mask, if not please try to social distance.

Please feel free to bring a lawn chair due to limited seating at Llano Cemetery.
