Luis Juan Romo-March 16, 2011

Luis Juan Romo, 75, of Dumas died on Wednesday, March 16, 2011.
A rosary will be at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, March 18, 2011 at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Dumas.  Funeral mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 19 at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.  Burial will be at the Dumas Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 500 N. Maddox.
Mr. Romo was born on December 27, 1935 in Muzquiz Coahuila, Mexico.  He married Frances Saldivar on December 19, 1959 in Dimitt, Texas.  He was a self-employed mechanic for thirty-five years and he farmed in the Colorado area from 1955 until 1971.
Mr. Romo was a great loving and happy man that loved to help everyone.  He was a huge Dallas Cowboy fan and was a member of St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Juan and Cleotilde Romo, and by three brothers, Alfonso, Roberto and Paulino.
Survivors include his wife of fifty-one years, Frances S. Romo of the home; one son, John A. and Trudy Romo of Bushland; four daughters, Norma and George Padron, Elvia and Carlos Medrano, Liz and Gabe Moreno and Irma Romo, all of Dumas; two brothers, Javier Romo of Houston and Leonardo Romo of Muzquiz, Coahuila, Mexico; six sisters, Lucrecia and George Gamboa of Houston, Magdalena and Antonio Cervantes of Houston, Rosa Romo of  Washington State, Angelica Romo of Muzquiz, Maria Del Refuigo of Saltillo, Mexico and Carlota Romo of Morelia, Mexico; fifteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

  2. We will miss Juan very much. He was certainly a legend here in Dumas. Your entire family has our prayers and sympathies. You are in our thoughts.
