Lucille “Lucy” Shelton-Ham, 82, of Amarillo, died Friday, Dec. 2, 2011.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, Dec. 5, 2011 at Grand Avenue Baptist Church with Jim Gose, pastor, and T. Carrol Messer officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Mrs. Shelton-Ham was born on Dec. 3, 1928, in McLean to Emory and Pearl Smith. In 1946, she married B.W. Shelton, Jr.; he preceded her in death in 1983. She married Bill Ham in 2007; he preceded her in death in 2010. In her early years, she was an avid bowler and enjoyed Eastridge Bowling Palace. Mrs. Shelton-Ham enjoyed singing and sharing that gift in the different nursing homes that she and the choirs visited. She was a member of Grand Avenue Baptist Church for more than 27 years.
Survivors include her son, Walt Shelton and wife Judy of Hickory, NC; a daughter, Susie Simpson and husband Hermis of Amarillo; two brothers, Hershel Smith of Hemet, Calif., and Ernest L. Smith of Amarillo; two sisters, Irene Hunt and Gladys Stewart, both of Pampa; four grandsons, Danny Shelton, Bryan Shelton, Adam Simpson and Aaron Simpson; and five great-grandchildren, Ethan, Trevor, McKinzey, Gavin and Sophia.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Grand Avenue Baptist Church, 904 N. Grand St., Amarillo, TX 79107.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 4, 2011 at the funeral home.
