Lilly Mae Moldenhauer, 87, passed away on January 18, 2019.

Lilly, daughter of Otis Anderson “Buffalo” and Charcey Faye “Fayemama” Boone, was born on February 4, 1931 in Vinson, Oklahoma. She grew up in the Hollis, Oklahoma area.  After graduating as salutatorian from Ron High School, Lilly married CR “Gube” Moldenhauer on June 15, 1949.  They had seven children and she was dedicated to the care of her family.  Lilly was the quintessential homemaker.  She was known for her delicious home cooking and her excellent handiwork as a seamstress.  She eventually pursued her passion as an artist and delighted family members when she would give them one of her paintings.  Additionally, Lilly possessed superb organizational skills.  In her home, everything had a dedicated place and space.  At one point she had to buy a new refrigerator and measured the space she would need for her gallon of milk and juice bottles to fit in the door.  When the befuddled salesman made fun of her, she quipped, “Doesn’t everyone measure their milk and juice bottles?”  Lilly was a much-loved woman who set an amazing example for her family and friends.  She was a sweet, gentle soul with a quiet strength.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Buffalo and Fayemama, husband Gube, daughters Cathy Fields and Karen Dove, brothers WT Boone, Doug Boone, Curtis Boone, sister Jeanne Larance, and great-grandson Drew Lewallen.  Lilly is survived by her children Carla Watson and husband Roy of Prosper, TX; Jerry Moldenhauer and wife Linda of Canyon, TX; Rick Moldenhauer of Canyon, TX; Randy Moldenhauer and wife Brenda of Carriere, Mississippi; and Alan Moldenhauer and wife Tama of Canyon, TX; sons-in-law Vern Fields of Sahuarita, AZ and Ronnie Dove of Austin, TX; siblings Elaine Boatright of Edmond, OK; Fayreen Lucas and husband Dee of Wichita Falls, TX; Don Boone and wife Cheryl of Follett, TX; Nicky Boone and wife Donna of Hollis, OK; sisters-in-law Helen Fennel of Amarillo, TX; Clara Jewett of Amarillo, TX; several nieces and nephews, and 16 grandchildren, 25 great-grand children and 2 great-great-grandchildren.  Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 22, 2019 in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel.  Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch, High Plains Food Bank or the Cottages at Quail Creek.
