Lillie Bess Clements, 93, of Amarillo died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012, in Pleasant Valley Methodist Church with the Rev. Sam Bailey of Twin Lakes Baptist Church of Mountain Home, Arkansas, the Rev. Gary Stevens of First Baptist Church of Morse, the Rev. Wes Stevens of Fellowship Baptist Church of Perryton, and the Rev. Jim Watkins of Wesley United Methodist Church of Hereford officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Mrs. Clements was born in Greenbrier, Arkansas on Jan. 22, 1919, to Joe Walter and Sarah Kirby Bailey. She married Maynard Lewis Clements on Sept. 25, 1937, at Conway, Arkansas and moved to Amarillo in 1947.
Lillie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed quilting, gardening and cooking wonderful meals for family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, Caralee Stevens and Mildred Sowell; and an infant granddaughter.
Survivors include a son, Gail Clements and wife Marsha of Canyon; two daughters, Sandra Travis of Amarillo and Carolyn Henderson of Hereford; six grandchildren, Glenn Travis, Kami Eades, Stacy Talent, Gary Boyett, Hali Jeter, and Todd Boyett; 16 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; two brothers, Ott Bailey of Yukon, Oklahoma and Joe Kirby Bailey of Mountain Home, Arkansas; a sisters, Alma Lois Emison of Vilonia, Arkansas; and many nieces and nephews.
