Leslie “Manard” Estes Gregory III, 56, of Guymon, OK passed away on June 2, 2020.

Service will be at 10:30 A.M., Monday, June 8, 2020, at First Baptist Church in Texline, TX with Billy Ramage officiating. Burial will be at the Texline Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, Amarillo.

Manard was born in Helena, AR on November 10, 1963, to Mary Juanita Poole. He graduated from Texline High School and served in the United States Navy for 6 years.

Manard was an amazing person who touched many hearts and everyone who met him loved him. He loved his family and adored his grandchildren.

Manard was an avid hunter and loved his Bluetick Coonhounds.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Walter and Ardell Poole; and father, John Bynum Burnett.

Survivors include his mother, Mary Juanita Burnett, of Guymon, OK; wife, Sheryl Gregory, of the home; daughters, Ashlie Gregory, of Guymon, OK, Sydnie Gregory, of Amarillo, TX, and Jericah Kent, of Amarillo, TX; son, Colby Burnett, of Amarillo, TX; stepchildren, Ashley Hamrick, of Amarillo, TX, Zackary Ziegenhirt, of Guymon, OK, and Raven Hauck, of Aumsville, OR; sister, Perria Burnett, of Amarillo, TX; brother, Maddison LaFever, of Huntsville, TX; and eight grandchildren.

  1. Sorry for you loss. Maynard and I served on the LaJolla. Had many
    Good times with Maynard. He was a Great Guy, give the shirt off
    his back if you needed it. I remember him always cutting himself
    with his knives. I was fortunate and got to chat with him a few years
    back. Thoughts and prays are with you and your family.

  3. My sincerest and heartfelt condolences for your loss. I served with your son, husband, father, and grandfather in the Navy on USS LA JOLLA. He was a gentle soul and a true shipmate. May God welcome him with open arms.

  4. Brother, I have searched for you on Facebook for some time now and wish so much that I could have found you before this. I have missed you brother and hope you Rest In Peace. When I think back about my time on the boat, you often come to mind.

    Sheryl, you have my deepest sympathy. He was a truly good man.

Always cutting up and making us laugh but serious when we had to be. He will be remembered and missed by us all. Sailor rest your oars, we have the watch.
