Lee A. “Buster” Dickerson, 82, of Amarillo died Tuesday, April 3, 2012.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 6, 2012 in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with Kurt Oheim of Pinnacle Community Church officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Lee Anthony Dickerson was born in Evansville, Texas on Oct. 27, 1929. He grew up on a farm in Altus, Oklahoma. His father died at an early age, he helped support the family until he entered the Air Force at the age of 22. He was stationed at McGhee Tyson AFB in Knoxville, TN where he met Marjorie Bonita Willis. They married June 10, 1955 at Grove Hill Baptist Church in Knoxville, Tennessee. They moved to Cincinnati, Ohio where he work for General Electric as an aircraft engineering technician. He retired from General Electric in 1991 after 25 years of service and moved to Texas to be closer to family.
He was preceded in death by a son, Lee Anthony Dickerson, Jr.; and two sisters, Dorothy and Betty.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie B. Dickerson, of the home; a son, David Dickerson and wife Kimberly of Atlanta, GA; two grandchildren, Justin and Kayti of Amarillo; three sisters, Marie Rogers of Merkel, Mae Edmiaston and Cecilia Dickerson, both of Amarillo; and two brothers, Sonny Muncy of Keller, Texas and Bob Muncy, of Amarillo.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, April 5, 2012 at the funeral home.
