Baca Photo EnlargementLCpl Jody Ross Baca, USMC(Ret.), 30, of Amarillo, died Friday, Jan. 16, 2015.
Memorial services will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel.  Military rites are by U.S. Marine Corps Funeral Detail.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Jody was born June 1, 1984, in Amarillo, to Ronnie and Linda Baca.  He graduated from Tascosa High School in 2002 and joined the Marine Corps Reserves in November 2002.  He deployed with Scout Platoon, Headquarters Company, Regimental Combat Team 1 to Fallujah, Iraq serving from 2004-2005.  Jody retired from the Marines while serving on Active Duty.
Jody loved his family, fellow Marine brothers, and friends.  He would have given anyone the shirt off his back.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ronnie Baca, in 2001; his grandparents and an uncle.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Linda Gattis and husband Brad; a sister, Toni Baca; a brother, Derek Baca and wife Cassandra; nieces and nephews, Mia, Bryan, Gabriel and Anilisia; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family suggests memorials be made to The United States Marine Corps Wounded Warrior Regiment, Attn: Charitable Giving Coordinator, 1998 Hill Avenue, Quantico, VA 22134.
