Lauren was born on October 17, 1999 in Amarillo to Michelle and Christopher Buck. She was a bright blue-eyed girl with long blonde hair, and an infectious laugh. She loved everyone she met and although she faced many difficulties in life, she seldom complained about her limitations. She got so excited when her bus showed up to take her to one of her favorite places, school. Eventually, her new favorite place became Camp Summit, where no one was looked at differently. She enjoyed VBS, playing with her Wii, singing, dancing in circles in her wheelchair, and often raced her brother and sister on their bikes. She enjoyed building and painting wooden projects with her daddy and helping her mom put away her own laundry and dishes. She embraced everything life had to offer and she will be missed by many. Lauren believed she could, so she did. We were given an angel, the form we may not understand. This little girl with eyes of blue has taught us more than we ever knew.
She is survived by her parents, Chris and Michelle Buck; two brothers, Christian Buck and Cameron Buck; a sister, Teagan Buck, all of Amarillo; her grandfather, Everett Hendricks; her grandmothers, Jenny Hendricks, of Canyon and Leslie Harlan of Amarillo; and her grandparents, Carl and Brenda Buck, of Canyon.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Camp Summit, 17210 Campbell Rd., #180, Dallas, TX 75252-4203.
