Kenneth Wayne Sandefer – November 3, 2014

Sandefer Now PicKenneth Wayne Sandefer of Amarillo, Texas died Monday, November 3rd, 2014.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 7, 2014 in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with Dale Travis, officiating.   Military rites are by DAV Chapter 26.   Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Kenneth was born in Portales, New Mexico, on December 11th, 1938, to J.T. and Eula Mae Sandefer. He served as a barber in the United States Navy from 1956 to 1959. In 1960, he married Deanie Morford and settled in Amarillo, Texas to raise his two sons, Mike and Randy. A productive career in truck driving started at Merchants Motor Freight and lasted for 26 years. After retiring from Merchants, he spent time as an instructor at Amarillo College, sharing his knowledge of truck driving with others.
His favorite things were his wife, his children, his grandchildren, a good garage sale, and helping a friend. He was a great man that will be greatly missed.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, 4 sisters, and a grandson, Brinton Sandefer.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Deanie Sandefer, a son Michael and his wife Dena, a son Randy and his wife Misty, all of Amarillo, a brother Rex Earick of Roswell, NM, a brother Richard Sandefer of Amarillo, a sister Fayedean Davis of Phoenix, AZ, his six grandchildren, Leslie, Ashley, Brennon, Jordan, Emily, and Kayleigh as well as many dear nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

  1. It has already been five weeks since we lost him. The world is a different place. Kenneth was the most wonderful father to all of us. We miss ho so much.
