Kenneth D. Williams

Kenneth D. Williams, 81, of Weatherford, TX, passed away on May 16, 2020.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, May 21, 2020, at Memorial Park Cemetery at Vega. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers at Vega.

Kenneth was born in Tulare, CA on January 27, 1939, to Edna Ann and Floyd Jefferson Williams. He served in the United States Army and was stationed in Alaska. While in the Army, he was a marksman and he received several awards during his service.

On August 25, 1966, he married Deanna Kay Stout.  They were married for 42 years at time of her death.  Kenneth and Deanna farmed in the Ford community west of Vega for 42 years.  While farming, Kenneth also worked for the Texas Highway Department for thirty-three years.  Kenneth was fortunate to work alongside his brother, Melvin for many of those years.

Kenneth was a member at First United Methodist Church in Vega, TX.

Kenneth moved to Weatherford, TX to live with his daughter Kelley and her husband Lynn and their son Brodie during his cancer treatment. During that time his met and married Peggy Wilmot.

He also was preceded in death by his parents, and daughter, Judy Jan.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy Jane Williams; daughters, Kelley Kay Sharp and husband Lynn, of Weatherford, TX, and Lori Leann Trahern and husband Duane, of Canyon, TX; grandchildren, Lacie Kay Hester and husband John, of Denton, TX, Brodie Lynn Sharp, of Weatherford, TX, Chelsie Leann Reading and husband Ben, of Austin, TX, Lexie Kay Trahern, of Amarillo, TX, and Tara René Trahern, of Canyon, TX; great-grandchildren, Christian Hester, Abby Reading, Oliver Reading, and Everett Reading; brothers, Melvin Gene Williams and wife Gail; sister, Barbara Ann Brown and husband Donny; a dear nephew Gary Simmons and wife Michelle, of Conroe, TX; Peggy’s sons, Justin Day and wife Lachrisha, Brandon Day, and Casey Day; and Peggy’s daughter, Patricia Sinclair and husband Jimmy.

  1. I’m so sorry for your loss! I enjoyed Kenneth while working at the Channing Highway Department! He came to visit us often even after he retired! He had the best smile. He was a good man and I know he will be missed by all that knew him! Leslie Kistner-Brown
