Justin Blair Tortella-April 27, 2011

Justin Blair Tortella, 36, of Amarillo died on Wednesday, April 27, 2011.
Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at the Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd. with Dale Travis of Family Life Church, officiating.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.
Justin was born on February 25, 1975 in Portales, New Mexico.  He moved to Amarillo and graduated from Tascosa High School.  He enjoyed playing basketball and was an avid football fan especially the Denver Broncos.  He was a talented graphic artist and loved spending time with his friends.  Justin was a warrior in his twenty year battle with kidney disease.
Survivors include his mother, Debra Tortella Beyer; three brothers, Tobin Shawn Tortella, Otto Ely Beyer and Arlo Ean Beyer; his grandmother, Juanita Tortella; two uncles, Shawn Tortella and wife Janice and Tim Tortella and wife Edna; a nephew, Traven Tortella; Shirley Patterson and Linda Patterson and various cousins and a support system of friends.

  1. Debbie, Sons and Family ~ We were so very sorry to hear of Justin’s passing and your tremendous loss. Your love for Justin will endure forever and your pain will eventually ease. Take comfort in knowing that he is no longer suffering as he did for so many years. Our love to you all.

  2. To all of Justin’s friends and family, I am sorry for your loss. He no longer has to fight with his body be in pain and feel worry. He is at peace in the presence of our Lord. Justin was always very nice and always smiling and laughing despite his illness. We were blessed to have him while he was here.

  6. My heart goes out to you…Justin was such a special man with one of the kindest hearts I have ever met. It has been a while since we hung out due to me living in Dallas …but he was never far from my thoughts. There are few people that you meet in life that leave foot prints on your heart..he is one of them and will be greatly missed by all and will live forever in our memories. I am soooo very sorry for your loss.

    I am so sorry to learn of your loss. Justin grew to be such a handsome young man.
    I recognized that precious grin as soon as I saw the picture. I pray his life was full despite his struggle. Quality of Life is so much more important than quantity.
