Julian Z. Suarez – October 24, 2011

Julian Z. Suarez, 58, of Amarillo, died Monday, October 24, 2011.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 27, 2011 at Hillside Christian Church Amarillo South Campus, 6901 S. Bell with Spike Maldonado officiating.  Burial will be at Llano Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Mr. Suarez was born on July 4, 1953 in Seguin, TX to Epimenio and Juanita Suarez.  He was a physical education teacher at Glenwood Elementary School.
Survivors include his wife, Lupe Suarez of Amarillo; a son, Julian G. Suarez of San Angelo, TX; grandson, Jaden James of Maryland; brothers, Modesto Suarez of Schertz, TX, Epimenio Suarez, Jr. of Victoria, TX, Abraham Suarez of Victoria, TX,  Joe Suarez of Seguin, TX, Jesse Suarez of Midland, TX and Johnny Suarez of Midland, TX; sisters, Janie Varela of San Antonio, Eva Gutierrez of Seguin, TX, Lupe Ryan of Abilene, TX, Matilda Fant of Amarillo, Gloria Castillo of Snyder, TX and Diana Puente of Snyder, TX; his beloved Brinna and faithful friends.
The family suggests memorial donations be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 50433, Amarillo, TX 79159.

  1. I am so sorry to hear about Julian’s death. We had no idea until today that he had passed away. Julian was such a quiet and gently spirit. He will be greatly missed. I pray for continued peace and strength for you and your family.

Just evryone whom heart he touched he always warned and made ya fill like family he not only taught ya to keep your head up and keep on fighting but how to love and houner what ya was doing i dont think any of us have ever met a more outstanding man in our lives you will be missed and will always have a place in our hearts and a spot on the feild and in our souls rest in peace my friend love


  4. On behalf of the Eisen family, Mr. Suarez will be greatly missed. We all got to have the enjoyment of having his PE class and learning great things. He was a wonderful individual who turned out to be a good acquaintance that knew our family after being out of school 8+ years and more. May you rest in peace! Thank you for being able to be part of our lives.

  9. Julian was a very good person who will be missed. I only worked with Julian for 10 years but I counted him as a friend. He fought for health and expected his students to be healthy. God bless you.

  16. I was saddened by the news of Julian’s passing. He was a great impact in my life during my younger days at the Wesley and also at Glenwood. The number of lives he has touched carries on ten-fold. My prayers are with the Suarez family and may he shine down upon us all.
