Joy Lynn Oubre – May 28, 2011

Joy Lynn Oubre, 68, of Amarillo, died Saturday, May 28, 2011.
Memorial service will be at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Joy Lynn was born May 2, 1943 to Donald and Maxine Jupe in Amarillo, TX.  She married Edward Paul Oubre on May 22, 1981.  She worked for Amarillo Community Federal Credit Union until her health pulled her away.
She was an amazing wife, sister, mother, grandmother and friend.  She had a true love for life and will always be remembered as the “gadget” queen.  The brightness in her eyes and her smile was the brightness you received from her heart.  She was an inspiration to all who knew her and will be dearly missed.
Survivors include her husband, Ed Oubre; two daughters, Kim Buchanan and husband Gerald, Lori Massie; sister, Judy Fine and husband Tom of Westlake Village, CA.  She has two step-sons, Blake Oubre and wife Stephanie and Todd Oubre; nine grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family suggests memorials to Hospice Care of the Southwest, 1301 S. Coulter, Suite 404, Amarillo, TX  79106.

  1. Joy Lynn was one of those people who was happy every day. Her presence at the office in Boulder was pure “Joy”! She will stay in the hearts of many. My thoughts and prayers are with you, Ed, and your lovely family.

  3. Joy Lynn was the sweetest person I have ever knew. She was kind and always happy to see anyone who came to see her. I’m sorry that she was taken away so young and my prayers are with you and your family. Kim and Lori are truly blessed for having such a great mother.

    Hi this is Linda Terry,I go to church at the Colonies. I also taught at Tascosa when you went there. I knew your mom years ago when we were all single, we played,or sort of played,bridge. Mostly we visited and ate. I am so sorry for your loss and I will say a prayer for you and your family.
