Joanna L. Williams, 74, of Amarillo, and formerly of Dumas, died Thursday, June 14, 2012.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at First Baptist Church in Dumas with the Rev. Jerry Howe, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Dumas Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Dumas, 500 N. Maddox.
Mrs. Williams was born Sept. 29, 1937, in Amarillo to Jimmy and Lorraine Dawson. She married Kenneth Williams, who preceded her in death on June 6, 2003. Joanna taught at Morningside and Hillcrest Elementary during her 38-year teaching career. She was a member of First Baptist Church where she was active in the choir, hand bells, and taught Sunday school.
Survivors include a son, James Finchum and wife Andrea of Amarillo; a daughter, Lisa Matthysse of Amarillo; a sister, Diana Warden of Dumas; nine grandchildren including Sephora Basaldua and Elisheba Perkins, both of Amarillo; and eleven great-grandchildren.

Viewing will be from 12:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m., Sunday, June 17, 2012, at Boxwell Brothers in Dumas.
