  1. I just cant believe that our family has lost so much this month. Heaven is certainly shining a little brighter with the addition of Uncle Jimmy. There isn’t a time in my life that I didn’t love and adore him. He was one of the kindest, gentlest men ever. I remember him getting us bags and bags of sunflower seeds so we could feed the squirrels at out house in town. I remember Christmas’s and Thanksgivings as a child out in Wildorado that were so special to me. Uncle Jimmy you were and are loved immensely and we will be seeing you soon!

  2. Mary Lee, my deepest condolences to you and your family. May you find comfort and peace in all your memories.

  4. Aunt Mary Lee, Randy, Sandy and all who are so deeply saddened by Uncle Jim’s home going, our hearts and prayers go out to each and every one of you. We know he will be greatly missed! He was a wonderful husband, dad, grandpa, uncle and much, much more.

Uncle Jim was always special to me, not only because he made each one of us feel special, but because he reminded me so much of my Dad. Not only in looks but in his warm and caring personality, as well as just being fun to be around.

    Sending our love to all,
    Jodi and Larry

  5. I loved working with Jimmy as an usher at Saint Stephen. He was always prompt and handled his duties with a smile and friendly greeting to everyone. I pray Gods blessings on the family.

  6. I love this photo–it reminds me of Granddad Valentine. Mary Lee, Randy, Sandy and all the family, we hold you in our hearts and prayers. Uncle Jimmy was my last living uncle from mom’s and dad’s families. My earliest, distinct memory is my mom taking me to Jimmy and Mary Lee’s wedding when I was 5 years old. Mom told me to watch for Uncle Jimmy’s knees to shake. I sat on the aisle in that little church and watched intently. I was sorely disappointed his knees didn’t shake but as I got older I figured out nothing in the world could make his knees shake. Whenever I hear someone say “salt of the earth,” the first image that pops into my head is Uncle Jimmy. He was one of those people who always showed you their good side, because there wasn’t a bad side. When Nancy and I shared our memories of him, these are the words that jumped up: warm, friendly, kind, modest, strong, steadfast, funny, honest, self-reliant, helpful. That all adds up to “grounded.” These are the old time values we were all brought up to believe in and I admired Uncle Jimmy because he lived them. Rest in peace, good and faithful servant. To all Valentines by blood, love and just plain ole good luck, we all share in this loss, we celebrate the good life of an grounded man, we hold tight onto those values and those memories because they are who we are. We love you, Rick and Nancy
