Jerry Genaro Soria, Jr., 59, of Amarillo, TX entered heaven on January 2, 2021.

Jerry was born in Amarillo, TX on November 14, 1961, to Genaro and Mary Soria.  Jerry attended Caprock High School and afterwards became a skilled mason.  He worked for R.E. Turner, Asarco and was a masonry teacher at Caprock High School. Before his passing, he operated his own successful masonry business for many years, Soria Construction.

Jerry had two children, Michael and Shannon, who he was deeply devoted to and were his pride and joy. He taught them how to be strong, independent and speak their mind. Jerry’s greatest pleasure came from watching his grandchildren grow, thrive and play the sports they love. He was always present on the sidelines of the field or in the gym cheering them on and celebrating them in every way.

He was an avid golfer and member of the Pride of the Panhandle Golf Club.  His greatest gift was his generosity as he often donated his services, time, money and love to many non-profits and people in need. Although he only had two children, he was a father figure and mentor to countless people over the years.

He was preceded in death by his brother Romualdo Soria.

Survivors include his wife, Gina Soria (married April 29, 2005); parents, Genaro and Mary Soria; son, Michael, daughter-in-law, Teresa, along with grandchildren Hope and Sidney, all of Amarillo; daughter, Shannon Torres, son-in-law, Wes, along with grandchildren Kyler, Kyndall, and Karson of Midland; brothers, Frank and Joseph Soria of Amarillo; and countless other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, January 7, 2021, in the Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, with Danny Morales officiating. Burial will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Viewing will be available from 8:00 A.M. – 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 6, 2021, at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home.
