Jerry Edward Harris, 84, of Amarillo, died Thursday, November 28, 2019.

Services will be at 11:00 A.M. Friday, December 6, 2019 in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel.  Burial will be Llano Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Jerry was born on March 8, 1935 in Powderly, Texas to Mary and Clyde Harris.  He lived most of his life in Amarillo before moving to Phoenix in 1970.  He was a retired union Boilermaker, a Mason and Shriner originally out of Amarillo.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Harris and wife, Barbara Harris; and youngest daughter, Jeri O’Dell of Holbrook,  AZ.

He is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Cox , son-in-law, Gary Cox and son, John E. Harris, all of Phoenix, AZ; and his sister, Pauline Winans of Gilbert, AZ; seven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.

  1. So sorry to hear. The first time I met Jerry we were working at Cholla Power Plant. He was a very good Boilermaker. Talking to my Mom today, she said Jerry was about the nicest person she has ever knew. Rest in Peace
