Jereline Frasier Musick (Jerry)-April 20, 2011

Jereline Frasier Musick (Jerry), passed away April 20, 2011 after succumbing to a long hard fought battle with breast cancer.
Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 22, 2011 at the Boxwell Brothers Memorial Chapel, 500 N. Maddox, with Reverend Jerry Howe, Pastor of Dumas First Baptist Church, officiating.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.
Jereline was born January 24, 1923 in Lincoln Parish, Ruston, Louisiana to F.L. and Metta Frasier. She had two brothers, Buddy, Purvis and one sister Tady, all of Amarillo TX.
F.L. moved the family to Texas from Ruston, Louisiana during the great depression of the 1930’s where he went to work in a Carbon Black plant near Sunray TX.
Jereline graduated from Dumas High School in 1941 and went to Draughon’s Business College in Amarillo then to work at the Cactus Ordnance Plant, then at Continental Carbon Plant in the lab and later moved into the office.
Jereline married E.W. Musick on March 13, 1942 while he was home on leave from the Army at the start of World War II.  They had been friends in Louisiana and the two families moved to Texas around the same time. E.W. and Jereline had two children, Robert and Rebecca, and when they were old enough to care for themselves, Jereline returned to the work force.  Working for Judge Eli Willis for several years and then in the County Tax Office.  Jereline would later take a position at the School Tax Office in 1964 and retiring in 1985.
Jereline is a member of the 1st Baptist Church where she had taught Sunday School.  Jereline enjoyed to read, knit, crochet and taking care of her family.
Jereline was preceded in death by her husband E.W. her parents F.L and Metta Frasier and one brother, Buddy Frasier, one granddaughter Tammy Renee Shafer along with numerous aunts & uncles, nephews & nieces, brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law.
Jereline is survived by her brother, Purvis Frasier; her sister, Tady Heiskel both of Amarillo TX; son, Robert Musick of Dumas TX; her daughter, Rebecca Musick Saxton and husband Richard Saxton of Tucumcari NM; two grandchildren, Russell Shafer and wife Andrea of Tucumcari NM, Sandra Shafer Ysco and husband Anthony of Amarillo TX;  six great grandchildren, Travis Lujan and Marc Lopez of Tucumcari NM, Tyler Loftis of Clovis NM, Alexandrea Salas and Ashley Ysco, both of Amarillo and Troy Dalton Shafer of Virginia Beach, VA.
Jereline touched many people in her life and will be truly missed by her family and friends.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, P.O. Box 50610, Amarillo, TX 79159.

  1. Rob and Becky, We are so sorry to hear of your Mothers’ passing. She was a great lady. We will remember you in our prayers. Oh how time has flown since we lived by you all.
