Jeanne Parker, 79, of Amarillo, died Sunday, May 20, 2012.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at Washington Avenue Christian Church, 3800 S. Washington, with the Rev. Jim Shelburne officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Jeanne was born Dec. 14, 1932, in Shamrock to Ernie and Linnie Whitten. She began school in Magic City and graduated in Perryton. She married Bill Parker, the love of her life, in Oskaloosa, Iowa in 1951. She was a stay at home mom and spent many years as a seamstress for the Lone Star Ballet. She loved crocheting, ceramics, painting pictures and keeping in touch with family and friends through Facebook. She was dearly loved by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister; two brothers; and a grandson.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Bill Parker, a daughter Saundra Fowler, sons John and Bill Parker all of Amarillo and son Mike Parker of Washington, a brother, Bob Whitten and wife Louise; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 22, 2012, from 5-7pm at the funeral home.
