Janie Zint Mabry – March 26, 2012


Janie Zint Mabry, 92, of Amarillo died on Monday, March 26, 2012.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at the Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd. with Lance Herrington officiating. Burial will follow at Dreamland Cemetery in Canyon. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Janie was born on October 19, 1919 in Augborn, Texas.   She lived in Sulphur Springs until moving to Estelline in 1936 where she attended high school.  She married Truman Mabry in 1937.   She attended West Texas State University, majoring in Art.  They moved to Canyon in 1973. Janie was a member of Paramount Baptist Church, a past worthy Matron for two years of the Order of the Eastern Star, a lifetime member of Ladies Auxiliary of V.F.W. and a member of Singles Club in Amarillo.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Truman, four brothers, C.L., George, Ed and Calvin Zint, a son, Eddie Mabry and his wife, Linda; and a granddaughter, Tami Verschelde Johnson.
Survivors include a daughter, Wanda Haaland of Dalhart; a son, Triston Mabry and wife Debbie of Temple; a sister, Virginia Lambert of Memphis; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be to your favorite charity.
