James (Jim) Douglas Foxe

James (Jim) Douglas Foxe, 79, of Amarillo, TX died December 25, 2020.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2021, at 11:00 A.M., in the Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd., Amarillo, Texas 79109.

Jim was born in Brookfield, MO on January 5, 1941, to Larry and Virlea Foxe.

Jim was a devoted husband to Joyce Foxe. Together they celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary before she passed away in 2007. He was a cement contractor in California for over 35 years. He spent most of his life in Southern California and moved to Amarillo with Joyce in 2005.

Jim was generous and giving to not just direct family but extended family and friends as well. He loved Nascar, old westerns, and a good debate. In his 20’s/30’s he loved racing motorcycles; he was a member of the original Gripsters Motorcycle Club in California – the originators of the Lake Elsinore Grand Prix.  Jim also loved boating and spent as much time as possible with family and friends in Lake Havasu.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Foxe; daughter, Robin Lambert; mother and father; and brother, Gary Foxe.

Survivors include his son, Jason Foxe; daughter, Tanya Foxe; sister, Roxie Ormand; and furry best friend, Sally.

  1. As a little Gripster kid I remember both your mom and dad as they were good friends with my parents. My condolences and blessings go out to you and your family.

    I was so sorry to hear about your father. He was such a quiet neighbor, but when we did see him there was always a gentle wave to us. I loved seeing you stop by to check on him and update me on how he was doing. If there is anything you need, please ask.

  4. Jim was a beloved member of the Gripsters Motorcycle Club. He was a competitive racer and enjoyed the sport. He will be missed by his fellow club members. Rest in peace my friend.
