James Arlon “Kat” McWilliams, 72, of Dumas, died Monday, December 12, 2011. Services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, December 16, 2011 at Temple Baptist Church in Dumas with J McGaughy, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at the Dumas Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Dumas, 500 N. Maddox.
Kat was born on February 4, 1939 in Portales, New Mexico to O.C. and Maurine McWilliams. He had sold auto parts for most of his life. He loved 1967 to 1972 Chevrolet trucks and collected knives, guns, hot wheels, and Dale Earnhardt memorabilia.
He married Jalane Robinson on February 5, 1960 in Cactus.
Kat was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Malcolm McWilliams.
He is survived by his wife, Jalane McWilliams of Dumas; a son, Scott McWilliams of Sunray; a daughter, Tonya McWilliams of Amarillo; two brothers, Marlon McWilliams of Cloud Croft, New Mexico and Wayne McWilliams of Dumas; two sisters, Arleta Fisher of Amarillo and Beverlee Melban of Dumas; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
