Jackie was born in La Junta, Colorado and spent her early years in the Colorado Springs area. Her maternal grandparents, Dorothy and Bucky Wilkins took her as an infant and raised her to be a beautiful and talented young lady. Jackie married Jim Restine in Amarillo, Texas in 1967 and was a constant inspiration and support to him through forty-eight years of marriage.
Jackie was a multi-talented lady, being a wonderful pianist and vocalist, gourmet cook, seamstress, and loved teaching her grandchildren cooking and sewing skills, readin’, writin’ and ‘rithmetic skills and taking them on many field trips. Jackie loved planning and having parties for her friends and family, loved embroidering, cooking and singing and above all loved her family. Jackie was a “kid and dog” person and had many wonderful dogs over the years with favorites too numerous to name.
She is survived by her husband, Jim; six children, Larry, Lana, Susan, Karl, Kurt and Julie, and their spouses; her beautiful grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Rooney, her pound puppy; two sisters, Cathy and Nancy Horton.
