Ila Elsie McDaniel – October 13, 2012

Ila Elsie McDaniel, 94, of Amarillo, died Saturday, October 13, 2012.
Services will be at 10:00 am. Tuesday in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd with Lowell Schmidt, pastor of South Georgia Church of the Nazarene and Ron Sullivan, pastor of First Church of the Nazarene, officiating.  Private burial will be in Llano Cemetery.
Elsie was born to Millie and Cameron Williams on July 6, 1918 in Tatum, New Mexico, being the youngest of four girls and six boys.
She married E.E. McDaniel in O’Donnell, Texas in 1940.  To this union was born one son, Dean McDaniel and one daughter, Anita McDaniel.
She was a member of the Nazarene church where she was active in the church in her early years.
Elsie’s passion for quilting was revealed in her many beautiful quilts created through the years.  She was previously a member of the Senior Citizens Quilting Group for 20 years.
Elsie will be remembered for her fun nature and her strong faith in our Lord.  She loved animals, vegetables, and flowers and would always remind you of God’s love and generosity in giving.
She retired from the Potter County clerk office after 13 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1987, parents, and siblings.
She is survived by her son, Dean and wife Karen; one daughter, Anita McDaniel; two grandsons Sean and wife Jenny and Chris McDaniel; four great-grandchildren, Kacie and Katie Lynn, Silas and Riley, all of Amarillo.
The family will receive friends 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home and in lieu of flowers; the family suggest memorials to South Georgia Church of the Nazarene or Gideon’s International.
