Hoytt Lynn Busby, 76, of Amarillo, Texas went to be with the Lord at his home on Saturday April 13, 2019.

Services will be held at Paramount Baptist Church in Amarillo, TX on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Hoytt was born on June 10, 1942 to Milton Everett and Olivia Pearl Busby in Portalas, New Mexico.

Hoytt was a natural handyman and worked as a mechanic for Xcel until he retired in 2007. After retirement he built his beloved shop where he spent most of time. He hosted a Thursday morning Bible Study at his shop and it was always one of the highlights of his week. The shop is like a living museum to his life and all of the things that he loved.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Olivia, and his siblings Clyde, Charles, Calvin, Mary, May, Norris, Ida and Joyce.

Hoytt is survived by his wife of nearly 56 years, Bobbie Busby and children, Dee Griffith and husband Brandon of Collinsville, TX, and Michale Hall and husband Tom of North Little Rock, AR. Grandchildren, Tailore Reasoner, Thomas Hall and wife Elizabeth, Elizabeth Hall, Emma Grace Hall, Hunter Griffith, and many close friends who were like family.

  1. I’m truly saddened to hear of Mr. Busby‘s passing. I’ll miss talking to him about his license plate finds and projects he was working on. It was a joy to watch him create art in his garage. I proudly display his works in my home and office. Every time I look at them I’ll remember his kind smile and cheerful attitude. I’ll miss ya, Hoytt.

  2. Hoyt my friend and Brother in Christ. I miss our daily conversations we had for many years at Harrington Station. You touched a lot of people through out your life’s journey. Thank you for your encouragement and for your love for people. You’ve made it home ………..Well done thy good and faithful servant!

  3. We are going to miss Hoytt so much but we are rejoicing that he is no longer suffering. He has been such a blessing to so many. The work he did for others has been a great testimony of his love and the use of the many skills that God gave him! We wonder how many crosses there are around the country that came from his skilled hands!
    We love you Bobbie and family.

  5. Hoytt was a good friend and a great person. I worked with Hoytt for many years at Xcel’s Harrington Station and also shared his friendship through the love of custom cars and hot rods. He will be missed by all who knew him.

    Such a fun and faith sharing couple. Hoytt lived his life for who/what really matters; faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and sharing his Word and faith with others!! A great man of faith. Our prayers will be with Bobbie, and other family members. Your with the Saviour you love.
