Homer “Pete” Day, 83, of Amarillo died on Wednesday, December 7, 2011.
Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at the Westview Christian Church with Ron Kohler officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Pete was born on December 11, 1927 in Yale, Oklahoma to Orby and Susie Day. He had worked for Colorado Interstate Gas for over 35 years retiring as a supervisor. Together with his wife, they lived and worked in Wyoming, Colorado, Texas, Oklahoma, and Kansas. They lived in Logan, New Mexico for 13 years after retirement. He was a member of Westview Christian Church.
He married Carolyn Phipps on August 29, 1958.
Pete is survived by his wife, Carolyn Day of Amarillo; three sons, Roger Wann and wife Carol of Dumas, Tim L. Day and wife Maria of Colorado Springs, Co, Pete Wayne Day and wife Sadie of Farmington, Utah; and eight grandchildren, Holli Hodges, Ashley Higley, Austin Wann, Garrett Day, Celisa Day, Brooke Howard, Hunter Day, and Skyler Day.
