Grace Dehn Nielsen Blanchard – January 11, 2013


Grace Dehn Nielsen Blanchard, 87, of Amarillo, died Thursday, Jan. 11, 2013.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with Greg Kinch, pastor, Southlawn Baptist Church officiating.  Burial will be in Llano Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Grace was born Easter Sunday morning, April 12, 1925, in Union Missouri.  Her parents were Edna Cornelia Dehn and Rudolph Joseph Dehn, both deceased.
Grace worked for Greyhound Bus Lines from 1943 until she retired in 1981.  She married Lester Frank “Swede” Nielsen in 1953, and they lived in Amarillo until he died in 1981.  Grace married Earnest Leroy “Jack” Blanchard in 1986 in Amarillo where they lived until he died in 2005.
She also was preceded in death by her sister, Doris Ennis.
Survivors include a brother, Rudy Ray Dehn and wife Narci of Amarillo; a stepbrother, Floyd Wilding of Missouri; three step-children, Barbara Jean Wood and husband Doug of Amarillo, Donald Lacy Blanchard and wife Linda of Arlington and Catherine Suzanne Gibson of Arizona; eleven step-grandchildren, Carrie King, Steve and Brian Wood, Marc, Scott and Alan Blanchard, Tammie, Wesley, Lester, Brian and Jennifer Gibson; and many step-great-grandchildren.
