Geraldine Schetter, of Amarillo, TX went to her heavenly home on December 27, 2019 at the age of 82.

The memorial service will be held at a later date in Dallas, Texas.

She was born September 1, 1937 in Dallas, TX to Dural and Edna Mae Erskine. She graduated from Crozier Tech High School in Dallas, Tx in 1955. She then moved to Amarillo after graduation and met and married Bill Halsted of Claude, Texas. Together they had four daughters and moved around a lot due to Bill’s job. They settled in San Antonio until 1979 when they divorced. Eventually she ended up back in Amarillo where she met and married Michael Schetter in November of 1982. In 1985 they moved to Bradenton, Florida and stayed there until 2011 when she moved back to Amarillo.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, T.J. and Genevieve Thompson; parents, Dural Ray and Edna Mae Erskine; the father of her children, Bill Halsted; the love of her life Michael Schetter; sisters, Genevieve Rae and JoAn Dirks; and her beloved Aunt Ruby.

Geraldine is survived by her daughters, Tammy Halsted of Austin, Tx, Judy Wheeler, Genny Lutrick, and Jana Halsted, all of Amarillo, one special daughter, Patty Brandenburg of Dodge City, Kansas; grandchildren, Kayla, Ashley, Taylor, Austin; one special granddaughter, Robyn Wood; five great-grandsons; her Aunt Clarice Guill Brown; numerous nieces and nephews; and friends.

  1. Momma….. so hard to believe you are really gone. Everyone says 1 day at a time. Not sure how that works. I will miss you every moment of every day 💔 . Love you 😘

  2. Nana, my heart is breaking. I don’t know how to go on without you here with me. Your sweet boys miss you fiercely, and don’t forget YOUR BRYAN… You taught me many things in my life & how to love unconditionally.. I miss you beyond belief and love you so much. Rest In Peace Nana💜🦋

  3. My dear cousins, Tammy, Judy, Genny and Jana, my heart is full of sadness for each of you. Aunt Gerry was an awesome lady full of life, wit and humor. That’s how I remember her. She will be greatly missed.
