Gaston Keto Benard

Gaston Keto Benard, 83, of Amarillo died Sunday, April 7, 2019.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 17, 2019, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with Elijah Demerson officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Gaston Keto Benard was born on September 20, 1935, in Winnsboro to Bee Moil Benard and Estella Waddeton-Benard. He attended school at Webster Community, Winnsboro and Quitman and served in the military. Gaston moved from Winnsboro to Tulia, TX and worked at Taylor-Evans, and later moved to Amarillo, TX, where he worked at Rowell Sale for 31 years as a truck driver. He also worked for Heath and Feed the Children for a number of years. His passion was fishing and hunting.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Billie Joyce Benard; and his son, Bee Moil Benard.

Survivors include two brothers, Barclay Benard and J.B. Benard, of Amarillo, TX; and a sister, Pinky McGill, of Kansas City, MO.  He also leaves to cherish his memory are his five children, Wilton Benard, of Palestine, TX, Florine Benard, Jacqualine Brown, and Corey Benard, all of Amarillo, TX, Alga Benard, of Killeen, TX; a God-given daughter, Erica Dancer, of Dallas, TX; eighteen grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives and friends.
