Gary Stephen Haskell, 71, of Amarillo, TX passed away on March 28, 2021.

Private family services will be held.

Gary (Steve) was born in Centerville, IA on August 29, 1949, to Hollis and Evelyn Haskell.

Gary (Steve) and his parents moved from Iowa to Lake Havasu City, Arizona in 1965. He attended Mohave County Union High School in Kingman, AZ, and graduated in 1969. He met his wife during his high school years. He was active in the Navy from 1970-1974 and was a blue water sailor on the USS McKean. After his discharge, he moved to Texas. He worked in construction and home remodeling, before becoming a site manager for Storage Facilities.  He retired after moving to Amarillo, TX.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and oldest sister, Cheryl Vonstein of Iowa.

Survivors include his two sisters and their husbands, Sandra and Robert Pick, of Florida, and Linda and Dick Snook, of Florida; his wife, Celia, of Amarillo, TX; sons, Nathan Haskell, of Amarillo, TX, and John and Tonya Moon Haskell, of Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren, Caitlin Haskell, of Amarillo, TX, Christian Haskell, and Caroline Haskell, both of Claude, TX, and Liam Haskell, of Wimberley, TX; and multiple nieces and nephews.

He had a great passion and love for his Messiah and the WORD.

He listened to psalms and scriptures put to music and loved to study the Torah and Biblical history.

    1. Thank you! I remember well the times we shared…on the bus, at school and you working with Evelyn. Linda was in the same class as Steve. He and I would often visit the LHC Facebook pages and reminisce . LHC was a happy place for him.
