Gary Lee Patzt, 66, of Dumas, died Tuesday, November 3, 2020.  No services will be held.  Cremation are arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Dumas, 500 N. Maddox.

Gary was born on October 24, 1954 in Watertown, South Dakota to Walter and Gisela Patzt.  He graduated from Clovis High School in Clovis, New Mexico.  He had worked in Clovis, Hereford, and Cactus before retiring from JBS.

He married Lanett Stanton on October 19, 1974 in Clovis.

He is survived by his wife, Lanett Patzt of Dumas; a daughter, April Ward and husband Ricky of Dumas; a son, Randy Patzt of Amarillo; a brother, Peter Patzt and wife Anna of Dumas; five grandchildren, Austin Rhodes, Darrian Ward, Tre` Ward, Nevaeh Patzt, and Brady Whatley; and two great-grandchildren, Guage and Creed.

  1. We just now saw the obit on Gary from a year ago. We are so terribly sorry to hear of his passing. He was a great friend.

  2. Mark and I are so very fortunate to have Gary & Lanett in our lives. We had so many fun times together. He will be missed dearly by so many. Watch over all of us!!!! Love you all so very much. 😇

  5. I am very sorry for your loss. Gary was a special person to a lot of us that knew him. He was a great friend to me and always enjoyed spending time with him and Lanett. Gary will be missed by many.

  6. What a precious friend. Many good times were had in the Patzt garage. My husband Steve loved Gary dearly. Many great memories. Praying for Lanett during this time. Prayers sent for Pete, April and Randy. Love you all.

Whether it be because they were influential, a great role model, or just a truly great friend whatever the case may be. Gary Patzt was all that and more to me as he was for many others I know. April, Ricky, Randy, Lanett, and all the rest of the family I hope you can find peace in the fact that Gary was loved in this way by so many people, and I pray that you know that we all have a hell of an angel watching over us all now! I love y’all!!
