Gary Lee Campbell

Gary Lee Campbell, 70, of Amarillo, TX died May 23, 2019.

Memorial services will be at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at St. Stephen United Methodist Church, 4600 S. Western St., with Pastor Travis Bennett and Pastor Ken Cole officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, Amarillo.

Gary was born on August 3, 1948, in Woodward, OK, to Harry and Lina Campbell. He attended Woodward High School where he received first letterman in golf. Gary graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1972 with a Bachelor of Science degree. He received his Master of Business Administration from George Mason University. Gary worked for Terra Industries as a human resources manager for 35 years in Woodward, OK before retiring to Amarillo. He was united in marriage to Carroll M. Cain on July 1, 1977. They made their home in Woodward and were blessed with one daughter, Tammie and one son, Nathan. Gary was a member of First United Methodist Church, St. Stephen United Methodist Church, OSU Alumni Association, OSU Cowboys Club, and Odessa College Wranglers. He enjoyed golf and Oklahoma State University Athletics. He was a lifetime member of Ambucs in Woodward, OK. Gary served in the Oklahoma National Guard from October 1969 to October 1979.

Gary and Carroll have enjoyed their many friends over the years and traveling together.

He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Harry and Lina Campbell.

He is survived by his wife, Carroll Campbell, of Amarillo; son, Nathan Campbell and wife Tiffany, of Amarillo; daughter, Tammie Boling and husband Mike, of Oklahoma City; grandsons, Chandler Lee Campbell and Barrett Campbell, both of Amarillo, and Logan Boling, of Oklahoma City; granddaughters, Kaitlyn Boling and Madelyn Boling, of Oklahoma City.

Gary will be available for viewing on Saturday, May 25, 2019, from 12:00 P.M.- 5:00 P.M., Sunday, May 26, 2019, from 12:00 P.M.-5:00 P.M., and Tuesday, May 28, 2019, from 8:00 A.M.- 8:00 P.M., all at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

  3. Gary was always a warm and kind person to be around. I still remember a devotion he shared with us when we were both serving on the Stephen Ministry team at FUMC Woodward. He always gave the glory to Jesus. He will be missed by all who knew him. Janis and l send our condolences to Carrol and Gary’s family.
