Gary Gwaltney – January 12, 2013


Gary Gwaltney, 57, of Amarillo died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013.
Services will be at 9 a.m. Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with Brent Bradley officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Gary was born Sept. 30, 1955, in Hoxie, Ark., to Elwood Leamond and Imogene Riepe Gwaltney. He married Teresa Featherston on Oct. 10, 1986, in Amarillo.
Gary was a truck driver for 17 years. He was a starter at Amarillo Dragway and had been a mechanic at Goodyear and Firestone. He was a Baptist.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Mickey Lynn Gwaltney and Jerry Austin Gwaltney; and a sister, Rhonda Jean Gwaltney.
Survivors include his wife Teresa Gwaltney; two sons, Gary Maniaci and wife Kristina of Foristell, Mo., and David Gwaltney of Amarillo; two daughters, Jeanette Knaff of Washington, Mo., and Dena Hill of Amarillo; two brothers, Rickey Gwaltney and wife Marlene of Calico Rock, Ark., and Randy Gwaltney of Moriarity, N.M.; a sister, Lilly (Zanna) Bailey of Moriarity; stepmother, Felia Gwaltney of Moriarity; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
