Gabriel Romero Sustaita, Jr., 88, of Electra, TX passed away in a tragic accident along with his best friend and loving wife, Patsy Davis on Saturday, December 19, 2020.
The family will receive friends between 2 and 4 p.m. Sunday, December 27, 2020 at Owens & Brumley Funeral Home in Wichita Falls. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 28, 2020 in the chapel of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home with Pastor Lloyd Daniel, officiating. Gabriel will be laid to rest at Llano Cemetery in Amarillo following a service at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home in Amarillo on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home in Wichita Falls.
A son of the late Gabriel Sustaita, Sr. and Manuela Romero Sustaita, Gabriel Jr. was born on May 4, 1932 in Cuero, Texas. He served our country proudly during the Korean War and Vietnam in the United States Army and retired with over 20 years of service from the Army Reserves. Gabriel had a long career as Aircraft Mechanic, retiring after many years with Bell Helicopter.
Gabriel was a member of the Cowboy Church in Electra. He enjoyed golfing, antique cars and woodworking. He and Patsy could be seen on any given day out hitting the garage sales and visiting friends and family. Where you saw one, you saw the other. Gabriel loved his family and loved being with his grandchildren.
Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Maria Olivia Sustaita; son, Edward Sustaita; his sister; five brothers; his son-in-law, Allen Jones; and his daughter-in-law, Anita Morris.
He is survived by his daughters, Blanca Rebecca Sustaita, and Cynthia Moeller and husband Harold; his son, Gabriel Ray Sustaita and wife Leticia; seventeen grandchildren; forty-two great-grandchildren; thirty-two great-great-grandchildren; his extended family, Glenn Castle Berry and wife Marion, Debra Smith, Larry Morris, Mike Morris, and Keith Morris and wife Darla and all of Patsy’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren who he loved dearly; and numerous nieces and nephews, family and friends.
The family will receive friends in Amarillo, TX at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m.- 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 29, 2020.
