Gabriel loved fishing. He also loved sports. The Denver Broncos and the LA Lakers were his favorite teams.
Gabriel had a great sense of humor and enjoyed teasing his loved ones. He always showed his love for his family with his big warm embrace, hugs you could never forget. He loved classic rock music, especially one of his favorite artists, Prince. He always ended his phone calls with “Later Gater!”
He was preceded in death by his son, Gabriel Benegas, Jr. (Baby Gaby); and brother, Jason Lopez.
Gabriel is survived by his parents, Jerry and Loraine Benegas, and Julie and Charlie Patton, of Dalhart, TX; brother, Jacob Benegas and wife Lak; sisters, Sierra Valdez, and McKenna Benegas, of Texas; children, Anthony Lopez, Dezirae Benegas, and MaryJane Benegas, all of Oklahoma, Jessika Benegas, of Colorado, and Ariel Benegas, of Texas; two grandmothers; five grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Gabriel was someone special to me and even though we weren’t together anymore that didn’t change the way we felt about each other. He always say he’s was Batman and I was Smurfette.
Love you always
Loraine Sierra
