Freddie Lee “Sims” was born April 17, 1940 in Chillicothe, Texas.  He was the fifth son of the late Rev. W. S. and Dalma King Sims.  He attended school in Chillicothe and Vernon, Texas.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and 4 brothers, Willie Lee Sims, Bonnie Joe Sims, H.K. Sims and A. D. Sims.  He is survived by his wife Janice Sims, of the home, and one sister, Mary Lou Gates of Burkburnett, Texas and two brothers, Ernest Lee Sims of Arlington, Texas and Clark Gilbert Sims (Carol) of Amarillo, Texas, and a great host of nieces and nephews along with their children.  He was blessed through marriage with a loving daughter, Valyrie Williams, and 3 sons, Horatio Smith, Timothy T. Hall, and Michael Molden and those that called him “paw paw” the nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.  He and his granddaughter Constancia Dupree Cummings grew to be very close.

Freddie Lee “Sims” passed away Monday, December 2, 2019 at the age of 79, after a courageous and long battle with cancer.  He was a loving husband.  He was truly a gift of a husband from God.  He was a man of his word and loved God.  He always said that he had God with him everywhere he went.  His faith was unwavering towards God and his marriage.

Services will be at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, December 7, 2019 in God’s Holy Tabernacle, 1400 Fairfield with Eddie Heath officiating.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
