Francis Walls Gardner, Jr. – October 31, 2011

Francis Walls Gardner, Jr., 77, of Amarillo, died Monday, October 31, 2011.
Private family services will be held.
Mr. Gardner was born January 3, 1934 in Annapolis, MD to Francis Walls Gardner, Sr. and Mildred Ellen Trumpower Gardner.  He retired from the Air Force after 20 years and 3 tours of duty in Vietnam and went on to work for 20 years and retired from the Maryland State Comptroller’s Office.
He was a Past Master of the Masonic Lodge in Annapolis, MD and a Past Patron of the Order of Eastern Star also in Annapolis, MD.  After moving to Amarillo in 1994, he was a Past Patron of the Order of Eastern Star #787.  He was also a member of the Amarillo Masonic Lodge #731, Amarillo Commandry #48, Amarillo Chapter #196 RA, and Amarillo Council #134 RSM.
Mr. Gardner volunteered countless hours weekly at the Veteran’s Administration Hospital for the past 18 years.
Survivors include his sister, Alice Tucker and husband, Clifton of Amarillo; and a niece, Tamara Tucker of Amarillo.
The family requests memorial donations be made to a favorite charity.
