Floyd Normand Jones, 81, of Amarillo, TX went to be with his Lord and Savior on May 19, 2020.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 A.M., Friday, May 22, 2020, at Llano Cemetery with Tanner Wilson and Terry Sanders officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, Amarillo.

He was born July 27, 1938, to Fred and Claudia Jones.  He graduated from Muleshoe High School in 1957, and then moved to Amarillo, TX.  He worked for Meckesson right out of high school and then took a job with the United States Postal Service where he worked for 36 years, and there met the love of his life, Helen. They were married July 12, 1970.

Floyd was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Helen Jones, and their son David; his parents; and his brothers, Sam and Freddie.

He is survived by his granddaughters,  Lacy Seymore and her husband Matthew, and their four children, Mattie Grace, Meghan, Matthew Ky and Mason, of Littlefield, TX, and Amanda Hiatt of Jacksonville, FL; his niece, Venus True and husband Lonnie, of Amarillo; brothers-in-law, Richard Winters and wife Laverne, of Amarillo, and Jimmy Lacy, of Seattle, Washington, two sisters-in-law, Tammy Lacy of Amarillo, and Lillian Carnahan and husband Jay, of Florida; his brother, Harold Jones and wife Delores, of Amarillo; nieces, Shirley and Janet, of Amarillo; nephew, Jerry, of Amarillo; great-nieces, Ashley and Staysha, both of Amarillo; a cousin, Claude Jones, of Paris, TX; and several other nieces and nephews.

  1. Floyd has been a precious neighbor and friend of ours for the last 41 years. God bless he and Helen as they are again blissfully reunited in the Lord. He will be missed.

  2. We loved and cherished you Uncle Floyd. You will be greatly missed but profoundly remembered with the best of memories! You are one of the best Uncles a girl can have! Thank you for loving Michael & I and all our 4 babies over the last 29 years.
    Until we meet again, give Aunt Helen & David huge hugs from us. We have been blessed to have been a part of your amazing life.

  3. I am so sorry Claude and I cannot be there for Floyd’s funeral. Claude is in a rehab facility in Paris and is unable to travel. You are all in our thoughts and prayers. May God bless you all with comfort and lots of good memories.
