Florine "Flo" Wilkins – March 4, 2011

Florine “Flo” Wilkins, 87, of Amarillo, died Friday, March 4, 2011.
 Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday in St. Peter’s Episcopal Church with The Reverend Robert D. Taliaferro, Celebrant, officiating and Dede Schuler Ballou, Deacon, assisting.  Burial will be in Llano Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount B lvd.
Mrs. Wilkins was born on April 1, 1923 in Mangum, Oklahoma to Julia and Rasheed Swayden.  She retired from the Santa Fe Railway where she worked in the superintendent’s office. 
She was a member of St. Peters Episcopal Church. 
 Mrs. Wilkins married Preston Wilkins in 1941 in Amarillo;  he preceded her in death in 1966. 
She was also preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by three daughters, Sandra Robinson and husband Steve of Amarillo; Julia Nelson of Amarillo; Brenda Bartley and husband Randy of Houston; her sister, Margaret Johnston of Amarillo; her brother, George “Junior” Swayden and wife Pat of Kansas; seven grandchildren, Scott Nelson, Brett Robinson, Ryan Nelson, Kirk Robinson, Brooke Bartley, Brock Bartley and Matt Robinson; her sister-in-law, Marge Wilkins; and numerous nieces, nephews and a multitude of friends. 
 The family suggests memorials to St. Peters Episcopal Church, 4714 NW 4th Ave, Amarillo, TX 79106 or Odyssey Hospice, 6900 I-40 West, Suite 150, Amarillo, TX  79106.

    I am so sorry to hear of Flo’s passing. She was always kind, full of humor and a great cook!
    I know you will miss her terribly, My thoughts and prayers are with you during this time.
