Florentino “Fats” Frausto, 74, of Amarillo, TX died on September 9, 2020.

Rosary will be said at 6:30 P.M., Thursday, September 24, 2020, in the Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel. Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 P.M., Friday, September 25, 2020, at St. Mary’s Cathedral. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Tino was born on October 16, 1945, in Tucumcari, NM to Mr. Jose and Mrs. Florencia (Garcia) Frausto. Florentino’s family moved to Amarillo, TX where he grew up, attended school, and worked in the hospitality industry. Florentino was a lifelong parishioner of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. He was a faithful devotee to the rosary and prayer groups throughout the Texas Panhandle. Florentino took pride in caring for family, friends, and loved ones. He was also devoted to a life of ministry, especially caring for those with burdens of grief and loss. He lived his life well and was loved by many.

Florentino was preceded in death by his parents, Jose & Florencia Frausto; his son, Simon Frausto; his granddaughter, Brittney Cook; and his siblings, George Frausto, Michael Frausto, Amelia Preciado, Guadalupe Frausto, George Frausto, and Elena Frausto.

Survivors include his wife, Jane Frausto; sons, Alfred Frausto, Isaac Frausto, and Tino Leo & wife Stephanie Frausto; and daughter-in-law, Amber Frausto. Survivors also include his grandchildren, Tino Jr. & Carsyn Frausto, Deann & Josh Backus, Daniela Frausto, Felix “Chano” Guerrero, Evan Frausto, Shawn Frausto, Lauren Frausto, and Connor Frausto. In addition, his brothers, Raymond Frausto, Benito Frausto, and Ricky Frausto; his sisters, Julia Frausto, Margie Silva, Toni Escamilla, and Josephine Campos; and his nieces, Destiny Preciado and Lucinda Frausto whom selflessly cared for Florentino prior to his death.

  1. Janie and kids, another Frausto angel has gone to heaven. Cousin Tino was always so welcoming to the California visitors. He had an infectious laugh, and a big heart. Rest in peace primo.
