Fernando Ballin Vitela – October 2, 2011

Fernando Ballin Vitela, 58, of Amarillo, died Sunday, October 2, 2011.
Rosary will be at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel.  Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at St. Martin Catholic Church with Monsignor Rex Nicholl officiating.  Burial will be in Llano Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Mr. Vitela was born on July 11, 1953 in Amarillo, Texas to Antonia and Fernando Vitela. He graduated from Alamo High School where he was very involved in athletics.   He had owned an operated a janitorial service.  He was a huge Dallas Cowboy and Texas Longhorn fan and had coached several Kids, Inc. teams.
He married Patsy Sauceda on February 19, 2008 in Amarillo.
Mr. Vitela was preceded in death by his brother, Pablin B. Vitela in 2001.
He will be loved and missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Patsy Vitela, of the home; two daughters, Stephanie Cates and husband Chris of Amarillo and Elizabeth Patton and companion Michael Cueller of Lewisville; his son, Fernando Vitela, Jr. and wife Mandy of Flowermound, Texas;   two step sons, Isaac Perez of Amarillo and Daniel Simon Vargas of Washington State; two sisters, Lydia V. Castillo and husband Tony and Mary V. Urenda; his mother-in-law, Lucy Sauceda, all of Amarillo; and fourteen grandchildren.
The family will be at 2812 Lloyd Drive.
