Evelyn was born July 19, 1915, in Hanley, Texas.  She grew up at Boles Children’s Home after the death of her parents.  While on a singing tour with the orphanage, she met Mackey B. McFarland, and five days later on September 12, 1933, they were married in Plainview, Texas.  They celebrated 58 years of marriage, and he preceded her in death in 1991.
Mrs. McFarland loved the Lord and faithfully attended Olsen Park Church of Christ where she was a founding member.  She was a creative, talented homemaker, and she always put her family first.  Even though Evelyn became blind in her sixties, she remained positive and fun loving for the remainder of her life.  She loved everyone she met.
Survivors include her three daughters, Mac Elaine Elliott and husband Robert of Amarillo, Gina Rodgers Marrale and husband Rick of Naples, Florida, and Debbie Crabb and husband Tom of Dallas; two sons, Bill McFarland and friend, Sandy Patterson, and Richard McFarland and wife Jane, all of Amarillo; 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren, all who called her Nanny.
The family extends their gratitude to every soul who touched her life and cared for her during her final days.
