Ester Baldassarre, 86, of Amarillo died Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, 2011, in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd., with Pastor Scott Davey of Grace Church officiating.
Ester was born July 23, 1925, in Naples, Italy, to Francaesco and Anna Pugliese Meglio. She was a homemaker and fashion designer and seamstress teacher.
She married Guido Baldassarre on Dec. 6, 1965, in Italy. They lived in Florida, Chicago and then moved to Amarillo. She had a very large family in Italy and the Chicago area.
She loved attending Grace Church and loved health foods. She was a loving wife to Guido and loved her family.
A special thank you to the staffs of Kirkland Court Nursing Home and Odyssey Hospice for all the love and care they showed Ester.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Guido; her parents, Francesco and Anna Meglio; and a sister, Anna Schwartz.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda Bryant of Amarillo; a son, Bill Baldassarre of Wisconsin; four grandchildren, Brianna, Sabrina, Jeremy and Joshua; three sisters, Elena Davis, Tina Lentini and Mary DeFrisco; a brother, Agusto Meglio; and several nieces and nephews.
